Organizations - Holy Name Society

The Holy Name Society is open to all men of the parish. We meet at 9:30 am on the second Sunday of the month (September thru June) in the Parish Activity Center. We have coffee and rolls before and during the meeting, and are normally finished by 10:30 am. Annual dues are $5. Attend one of our meetings and see for yourself what we are about. Enjoy the camaraderie and, hopefully, you will decide to become an active participant.

Purpose of the Holy Name Society

To honor the name of God and to fulfill the petition of the Lord's Prayer through good example of words and deeds
To be a working society for the benefit of Our Lady of Consolation parish and the community
To foster the observances of the promises contained in the Holy Name Pledge

We sponsor many events throughout the year including:

  • Ham Bingo before Easter
  • Turkey Bingo before Thanksgiving
  • Annual Mother's Day Breakfast
All women of the parish, along with their daughters, are invited. It is most gratifying to see the many daughters who have married, moved out of the area and have daughters of their own, attend with their mothers.
  • Semi Annual Outings
All men of the parish are invited to local high school athletic events.
  • Cards and Prayers
We send Get Well Cards and offer prayers for all ill and bereaved parishioners.

Twice a year, The Holy Name Society sends letters to parishioners to solicit support of our charitable activities. We make regular contributions to the following groups:

  • Parish Religious Education
  • Parish Friends in Christ
  • St. Joseph's Soup Kitchen
  • Parish Youth Group
