2020 Faith Formation Registration Form (PDF)
Dear Faith Formation Families,
Faith Formation is a Religious Education Program offered to the young members of our parish (ages 6 to 15) allowing them to gain a deeper insight into their faith and God’s love for them. Our Faith Formation Program is not intended to take the place of regular Mass attendance, rather build upon its strengths.
The Christ In Us Family Model of catechesis draws upon the strengths of families and provides ongoing support, formation, and encouragement to help families grow in their Catholic faith. Family gathered sessions take place here at Our Lady of Consolation (twice a month; one Wednesday evening and one Sunday morning, from September through May) for faith-related activities that support the instruction families share at home between sessions.
It is important that every child receive a religious education so to prepare them for a life of discipleship and reception of the Sacraments.
First Reconciliation follows two years of preparation for the sacrament.
First Eucharist follows preparation for the sacrament of Reconciliation and one year of preparation for the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist.
Confirmation Preparation begins on the 7th Grade level and continues for two consecutive years. After two years of Confirmation preparation, the Sacrament of Confirmation is received the following fall.
Please note our schedule for (in-person) Family Gathered sessions and Catechist led training is subject to change. At any time a family does not feel safe or comfortable returning to the parish or for those who are high risk, e-learning is available.
